Following the success of our inaugural conference in February 2019, Govconnect are delighted to announce that our 2nd annual Improving Patient Safety & Care Conference will take place on February 13th 2020 at the Royal Society of Medicine, London.
More than one million people use the NHS each day and making sure they receive safe and reliable care is essential.
As medicine advances, health needs change and society develops, so the NHS has to continually move forward so that in 10 years’ time it has a service fit for the future.
The NHS Long Term Plan will do just that. Drawn up by those who know the NHS best – frontline health and care staff, patients and their families and other experts – the Long-Term Plan is ambitious but realistic. It will give everyone the best start in life; deliver world-class care for major health problems, such as cancer and heart disease, and help people age well.
In September 2018 - Health and social care secretary Matt Hancock announced a new national strategy for patient safety.
The New NHS Patient Safety Strategy was published on 2nd July 2019. The strategy describes how the NHS will continuously improve patient safety, building on the foundations of a safer culture and safer systems.
At the Improving Patient Safety & Care 2020 conference, delegates will hear a synopsis of why the NHS needs to change and the key elements within the NHS Long Term Plan that aim to deliver improved patient safety and care. This conference will examine progress of ongoing initiatives, whilst dissecting the aspirations of the new national patient safety strategy.
